My story

Global to Local

I wasn't always a Wichitan! Originally from Lebanon, I grew up in the United Arab Emirates and lived around the world, including Australia and Spain before calling the Bay Area and now Wichita home, since 2016. My international background fuels my love for people and connecting with them, especially locally.

With a Bachelor's in International Studies and fluency in four languages - Arabic, English, French and Spanish - I bring a unique perspective to fostering community.

Professionally, I have worked in the areas of talent development, education, human resources and the nonprofit space.

Personally, I love dining at the many local restaurants and cafes Wichita has to offer. There’s something special about the many family-friendly amenities our community offers, like  Exploration Place, Sedgwick County Zoo, Botanica and some great parks. You'll likely find me there with my two boys in tow!

Wichita's become my happy place, I love it here. My dream with The Local is to help you fall in love with it too.

There’s nothing better than “being a local” and making a community home.

Additional Experience

During my time at the Greater Wichita Partnership, I developed the talent department assisting Human Resource professionals and worked alongside employers to recruit and retain talent.

I was also part of the team that launched the Choose Wichita campaign, including the website and marketing materials.

Fun facts about me

I’ve lived around the world: UAE, Australia, Spain and moved to Wichita from San Francisco.

I speak four languages: Arabic, English, French, and Spanish.

You can find me enjoying our local restaurants, running after my two boys at all the great local family amenities.
